Yael ENIVEL (Ars Vēna—translating from Latin as 'the vein of art') is a French-American fine art artist whose work operates at the intersection of dark romanticism, mythic folklore, and visual poetry.
Guided by her heritage and an enduring love for feminine beauty, horned fauna and mythological beasts, Yael crafts atmospheric worlds that explore dark elegance, symbolism and the figurative form. Informed by a cross-cultural heritage and a Ph.D. in Humanities and Art History, Yael translates classical iconography and literary romanticism into intricate linework and mood-driven aesthetics palettes.
Operating commercially under her studio brand, The French Elk, her work has built an international base across major curated platforms—including consecutive invitations as a Featured Guest Artist in the Autograph Area at San Diego Comic-Con, juried fine art showcase at the Seattle Erotic Art Festival, competitive juried Artist Alley of Rose City Comic-Con and specialized dark fantasy Conventions across the West Coast such as Monsterpalooza and Midsummer Scream.
Before earning her Doctorate’s degree from the Université Côte d’Azur in France, Yael studied Fine Arts at the Beaux-Arts in France and Monaco, later obtaining her Bachelor of Fine Arts from The Art Institute of Seattle. She also dedicated three years to the intensive study of printmaking at the University of Hawaiʻi Mānoa.
Yael’s life has spanned France, the East and West Coasts, the Pacific Islands, and the American Southwest. The diverse landscapes and people she encounters serve as constant inspiration for her creative work. Raised between French and American cultures and having traveled to dozens of countries, she views diversity as the cornerstone of her artistic vision—driven by a core belief that as long as there is breath, there is potential for creation and adventure.
Yael believes art is a universal language—one that transcends boundaries and rejects division.
